Migration Pilot Testers and Early Migration to PEOPLESOFT Domain

As part of the J. D. Edwards and PeopleSoft integration users are being migrated to a single "PEOPLESOFT" domain. To distribute the workload and provide a smooth process users are being migrated in groups. Some users have been asked to migrate early as part of the testing. Other people may have migrated early on their own thinking this would be helpful. There are important things to know about early migration.

Password desynchronization. At the time the migration tool is run your password is synchronized between the two domains. From that point on it is treated as two accounts with two passwords. The password in the legacy PeopleSoft CORP account will expire 45 days after it was originally created. The password in the new PEOPLESOFT account won't expire for 90 days. Thus if you are logging into the PEOPLESOFT domain (as you should be if you are testing) you won't get a warning that your password is about to expire. If you missed the instructions to change your password right before migration, or if you couldn't follow them, or if you were a really early tester, it is possible that your CORP password will expire.
If you are forced to change your password because it expired, or if you habitually changed it because you logged into CORP and got the message that it was due to expire, you may have had a couple problems:

Getting into Planet. You will need to use your CORP password or JDEMD1 password.
Changing your PEOPLESOFT password to match the CORP one. If you try it you may get an error. You will be mystified. But try the one you created for CORP. If that doesn't work shutdown, reboot and then try the CORP one.

Password resynchronization. Being aware of the password issues we are running tools to resynchronize passwords with the original domain. So if you have two separate password and the PEOPLESOFT password suddenly stops working try the password for your original domain.
Inability to use some mapped drives from the PEOPLESOFT domain that remain accessible through your original domain. The server you are accessing may not yet be resource managed for accessibility by the same accounts in the PEOPLESOFT domain. The migration tool will scan servers for existing domain dependencies and adjust as necessary so that access or service accounts will still run with duplicative accounts copied into PEOPLESOFT from CORP as well as the legacy CORP/JDEMD1 accounts. We are only resource managing servers in CORP or JDEMD1. We have a trust established to DSI-INET but will not be running the migration tool on servers within those domains.
Incomplete migration The scheduled migration tool will migrate both your user account and your machine account. If you use the manual migration tool your user account and profile will be migrated but your machine will not be.
Early migrators are testers by default. If you migrate early you have just recruited yourself as a beta tester. Although our goal is perfect performance we can expect surprises and issues, that's why we aren't migrating everyone yet. So, no complaints. You should report any issues to IT-338 Active Directory Integration.
