Facilities-organized move tips
For more information about organized office moves on Planet PeopleSoft, click here.
On large-scale, organized moves, there are some common issues that can occur after the move is complete:
Network drive: How to map a network drive - Eureka! document 50003.
All shared public printers should already be set up by the time you move in.
Post-move form: You should receive a "Post-move" form after your move is complete. Please check that form to see if any of the issues you have is covered there.
Missing anything from the move? contact your Move Coordinator.
Facilities issues: Contact your Move Coordinator first. The coordinator can either have your issue taken care of, or will give you instructions on who to contact.
Voice mail questions: If you have questions on how to use voice mail, go to the Eureka! Telecom Voice Mail Topics List.
Telecomm issues? Open a NorthStar ticket or contact TSO (Technical Support Operations) at 4-2222, 1-925-694-2222, or toll free at 1-888-54-PSHELP (1-888-547-7435).

Connect the new cord to the wall network port.
Mailbox: As part of the move, you should already have a mailbox set up in a mail room on your floor. Make sure you check all the mail rooms on your floor for your name before you contact your Move Coordinator to request a mailbox.
Office location addresses: For the street address of your new building, see this link on Planet: http://planetx.peoplesoft.com/employee_resources/offices/office_information/index.html.
Requesting a longer network cord
Generally, your office is configured such that the network cord for computer should be able to easily reach the network port. If your new office is configured such that you need a longer network cord, you may request via NorthStar another network cord and a network "coupler" to be used in conjunction with the network cord you already have. Please allow some lead time for the order to be processed. Your department will be charged for the items. Alternatively, check with your manager and see if you may purchase a new cord and expense the cost.
To order the additional network cord and coupler:
Launch NorthStar and log in, if necessary.
On the left side of My Home Page, click on Log Service Ticket.
Specify how you should be contacted and enter an email address or phone number if needed.
On the Log Service Ticket screen, click next to Workstation so that the radio button is chosen. Then click Next.
On the next screen, click the radio button next to Request Peripheral Equipment and click Next.
For the question What type of hardware peripheral do you need? choose 7 foot LAN Cable.
Note that the format must be mm/dd/yyyy or mm/DD/yy.
Note: Be sure to specify that you need the coupler, or you will not get one.
Enter any further details in the Description field.
Click Next.
If the computer does not appear in the list, choose Other — not in list.
If you do not specify enough information, your delivery will be delayed while that information is requested from you.
Click Finish.
Your LAN cable and network coupler will be delivered to the specified location and your department charged for the item.
