The Cisco 7940 IP telephone overview

Document number: 81005

The Cisco 7940 IP telephone is a full-feature phone. It provides voice communication over an IP network instead of over an analog telephone line. Some of the benefits to PeopleSoft are: bringing voice communications internally over the network instead of over the phone company's analog lines is very cost effective; equipment and maintenance are less expensive; and by having communications over the network, most of the issues will be able to be resolved internally which will result in quicker resolution time as well as more control over the communications.

Standard telephone features such as redialing, call forwarding and accessing voice mail as well as others are still available on the 7940 IP phone.

(Click on a feature below for a brief description of that feature.)
