Some services for the Cisco 7940 IP phone such as speed dialing are actually configured in the service subscription option in the Cisco CallManager.
To subscribe to services in the CallManager:
- Log on to the Cisco CallManager at
http://callmanager/ccmuser.

- Click the
Configure your Cisco IP Phone Services link.
- Click the down arrow below
"Available Services (for new subscription)" and select the service desired by single clicking on it. A description of the service selected will appear in the Service Description window.
- Click the
Continue button.
- Depending on the service selected, a new page will appear so that service can be configured. Click a link below for detailed information on configuring that service:
- Click the
Subscribe button.
The page will refresh and the following Status message will appear:
Update completed successfully; you are now subscribed to "[service just subscribed to]". To subscribe to additional services, click the
Return to the Menu link and select
Configure your Cisco IP Phone Services link and follow the steps above.
If being subscribed to a service is no longer necessary, you can unsubscribe from it.
Unsubscribing from a service.
Depending on the services being subscribed to, some detailed information must be provided before the configuration is complete.

My Address Book or
My Fast Dials:

Service Name*: Required field should be left as the default.

Outside Access Code: Enter "
8" so that outside calls may be dialed.

User Identification*: This required field
must match the User ID (first initial, last name) used to log on to the Cisco CallManager system.

PIN: This required number must match the password used to log on to the Cisco CallManager system.

Speed Dial:
-
Service Name*: Required field should be left as the default.

Speed Dial 1 Name: Enter the name to indicate what phone number this speed dial is being configured for.

Speed Dial 1 Number: Enter the phone number that should be dialed for speed dial 1.
Note: Be sure to enter "8" followed by the area code (if necessary) for external calls or a "6" followed by the office code for internal calls. Do not use any punctuation such as commas.
- Complete the additional speed dial sequences as indicated for Speed Dial 1 Name and Number.

- Click on the service in the Your Subscribed Services window that you want to unsubscribe from.
- Click the
Unsubscribe button.
- A dialog box will appear that says,
"Are you sure that you want to unsubscribe from [service selected's name]? Click OK to unsubscribe, or click Cancel to remain subscribed to this service." Click
OK.
The page will refresh and the following Status message will appear:
You have been unsubscribed from the service "[service name]."
