Seminars OnDemand open in wrong application
Symptom:
When user tries to launch a Seminar OnDemand, it opens in the wrong application, for example, WinDVD.
Cause:
It may be that your computer does not have the correct plugins installed.
It is most likely a file association conflict with another software program. The WinDVD application on the JDEC build also uses the .svc file type.
Resolution:
Verify that you have installed all of the necessary plugins for the type of course you are trying to run. Depending on the type of course, you may need Authorware, Media Player and/or Interwise.
For more information, click the Click here to prepare your computer link on the Knowledge Center login page or see the following Eureka documents: 18214 — How to install plugins for Knowledge Center and 18280 — Enterprise WebCast for former J.D. Edwards employees.
Follow the steps below to associate the .SVC file type to the Interwise Participant.
Open My Computer.
From the Tools menu, select Folder Options.
Click the File Types tab.
Scroll down the list of file types. Locate and select the SVC file type.
In the bottom of the window, the name of the application used to open files with the SVC extension appears. It should be Interwise Participant. If another application is listed, click the Change button.
Select InterWise Participant from the list, then click OK to save the changes.
Click OK to close the Folder Options window.
Try to launch the training course again.
If you need assistance with your file associations, contact Technical Support Operations or submit a NorthStar service ticket.
