Unable to run PSTV or PSRadio live webcast
Note: VPN and RAS access to view live PSTV or PSRadio webcasts is not supported.
Symptom:
User is located in a PeopleSoft office but is unable to view a PSTV or PSRadio live webcast. Windows Media Player launches but nothing is playing (no video or audio).
Cause:
This may be caused by Windows Media Proxy settings or by a VPN firewall setting.
Resolution:
To check your Windows Media Player proxy settings:
To open Windows Media Player, click the Start menu, select Programs, then select Windows Media Player.
To check the proxy settings, click the Tools menu, then select Options.
Click on the Network tab.
Under Streaming proxy settings, the proxy for HTTP should be set to Browser. If not, follow the steps below:
Click Configure.
Select the Use proxy settings of the Web browser radio button, then click OK.
Click OK to exit the Options window.
If you have used VPN, follow the steps below to check your firewall settings:
Open the Cisco VPN client.
On the main menu, select Options.
Verify that there is not a checkmark next to Stateful Firewall (Always On).
If the problem continues, submit a NorthStar ticket or contact Technical Support Operations.
