Release and renew your IP address using the IPRenew Utility
A number of errors can be resolved by releasing and renewing your IP address. Click here for a list of the errors.
You may release and renew you address using the IPRenew Utility by following the steps below. If you are leaving an office, you generally do not want to renew the IP address - just RELEASE it manually - for instructions, see Eureka! document 55057 — How to release your IP address. Note: The steps below cannot be used on a legacy J.D. Edwards machine (use the instructions in Eureka! document 55057 — How to release your IP address ).
Close down running applications, such as Lotus Notes.
Click on the Start menu button.
Click on Programs.
Click on Utilities.
Click on IPRenew Utility.
Your computer will automatically release your IP address and get a new one for you. This may take a few seconds. A pop-up window will apprise you of the progress of the utility.
You should now have full access to the network and the error message should no longer appear.
Note: In certain circumstances, you may need to reboot your machine to obtain a new IP address. If you still cannot renew your IP address, verify you have a solid network connection. For information about checking a network connection, see Eureka! document 50017 — Verify that you have a valid network connection.... If you are still having problems, you may have a bad network card. Contact Technical Support Operations for further assistance.
