Error: invalid doc broker in dmcl.ini file network
Symptom:
The following error appears when a user attempts to log in to Documentum: invalid doc broker in dmcl.ini file network.
Cause:
This occurs when Documentum is unable to locate the host listed in the dmcl.ini file.
Resolution:
Verify that you all of the necessary DNS entries:
From your desktop, right-click on the My Network Places icon and select Properties.
Right-click on the Local Area Connection icon and select Properties.
Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Properties button.
Click the Advanced button.
Click on the DNS tab.
In the bottom of the window under Append these DNS suffixes (in order), verify that you have the following entries:
peoplesoft.com
corp.peoplesoft.com
jdedwards.com
aps.jdedwards.com
cnc.jdedwards.com
mlab.jdedwards.com
If any of these entries are missing, add them in the sequence shown above.
If you have any entries that are not listed above, do not delete them.
If you are still receiving the error, verify that you have the correct host listed in your dmcl.ini file:
From your desktop, open My Computer.
Double-click your C: drive, then double-click WINNT.
Locate dmcl.ini and open it in Notepad (right-click the file, select Open With, then select Notepad).
Verify that your file contains the following:
[DOCBROKER_PRIMARY]
host = IT-SUN27
