ERROR: Page cannot be displayed (Customer Connection only)

Symptom

The following error displays when a user attempts to log in to Customer Connection: Page cannot be displayed .

Resolution

To resolve this error, please check the following items:

  1. Close all browser windows.

  2. Open a new browser window and type www.peoplesoft.com in the Address field.

  3. Click the Log In button.

  4. Enter your network (Planet) username and password, then click Enter.

  5. If the problem continues, clear your browser cache, then close the browser window. For detailed instructions, see Eureka! document 16093 — How to clear the cache in Internet Explorer.

  6. Open a new browser window and log in to Customer Connection.

  7. If the problem continues, delete your cookie files, then close the browser window. For detailed instructions, see Eureka! document 19012 — How to find and delete cookies in Internet Explorer.

  8. If you continue to receive the same error, click Tools on the Internet Explorer menu bar.

  9. Select Internet Options.

  10. Click the Advanced tab.

  11. Scroll down until you see Show Friendly HTTP error messages. Then, deselect/uncheck this checkbox.

  12. Note: changing this setting will prevent some standard Internet Explorer messages from displaying. For example, if you click a dead link, a blank browser window will appear instead of the Page cannot be displayed error.

  13. Click Apply, then click OK to close Internet Options.

  14. Log in to Customer Connection again to verify that you no longer receive this error.
